Reaction of 80% THPC (23.82 g, 0.1 mol) with urea (24.02 g, 0.4 mol), following Example 3, gave 36.18 g (100.8%) of tetrakis(ureidomethyl)phosphonium chloride (I, R=R'=R"=H, X=Cl) as a colorless, brittle glass, identical (31P NMR) to the product of Example 11.
