Disodium 6-chloro-4-oxo-10-propyl-4H-pyrano[3,2-g]quinoline-2,8-dicarboxylate (0.5 g) was dissolved in water (1 ml) and a solution of anhydrous calcium nitrate (0.05 g) in methanol (5 ml) was added. After stirring for one hour the precipitate was collected and washed well with water. Drying in vacuo at 50° C. afforded the title compound (0.27 g) as a yellow solid.
