N-Chlorosuccinamide (1.79 g, 13.4 mmol) is added to a stirred solution of 1-(4-amino-phenyl)-propan-2-one (2.0 g, 13.4 mmol) in chloroform at 0° C. After 1 hour the reaction is complete. The solvent is removed to give the title compound.
