Aqueous ammonia solution (5 ml) is added to a stirred solution of the crude sulfonyl chloride (23b) (0.70 g, 2.62 mmol) in tetrahydrofuran (100 ml) at 0° C. After 2 hours the reaction mixture is concentrated in vacuo. The residue is diluted with water (100 ml) and extracted with ethyl acetate (100 ml). The organic extract is dried (MgSO4) and the solvent removed to give an oil. Purification by chromatography on silica, eluting with ethyl acetate, affords the title compound (0.154 g).
