Chlorotrimethylsilane (0.124 ml) and water (9 μl) were added to a solution of the less polar diastereoisomer of 2-(4-dimethylamino-4-phenyl-cyclohexyl)-N-phenyl-acetamide (300 mg, 0.9 mmol) in ethyl methyl ketone (2 ml). After 18 h it was possible to isolate the hydrochloride as a colourless solid in a yield of 64% (210 mg) (Example 55).
