Procedure

A mixture of the product from step (a) above (88 mg, 0.14 mmol), 2-(3-trifluoromethylphenyl)ethylamine (45 mg, 0.24 mmol, Trans World Chemicals), tris(dibenzylideneacetone)dipalladium(0) (8 mg, 0.01 mmol, Strem), 2-(di-t-butylphosphino)biphenyl (8 mg, 0.03 mmol, Strem) and sodium-tert-butoxide (31 mg, 0.33 mmol, Aldrich) in toluene (2 mL) was heated at 150° C. in a microwave synthesizer for 14 min. The reaction mixture was cooled to room temperature, diluted with EtOAc (5 mL) and filtered through a Celite® pad. The filtrate was concentrated in vacuo and the residue dissolved in MeOH (4 mL), and purified by preparative HPLC (gradient 0.1% trifluoroacetic acid in acetonitrile) to give the title compound as pale-yellow oil. MS (ESI, pos. ion) m/z: 733 (M+1).
