To a solution of compound 2.5 (1.14 g, 1.47 mmol) in THF (30 mL) was added a 1.0M solution of tetrabutylammonium fluoride in THF (2.2 mmol) at room temperature. The colorless solution was stirred for 5 hr at room temperature and then diluted by addition of 10 mL of CH2Cl2 and 10 mL of brine. The aqueous layer was extracted three times with CH2Cl2, dried over Na2SO4, filtered and evaporated. The residue obtained was purified by silica gel column chromatography using 1-1.5% MeOH in CH2Cl2 as eluent to give the desired compound 2.6 (900 mg, 88%) as a white solid.
