PROCEDURE

实验过程

To a chilled (ice-water bath) solution of the 3.47 g (8.75 mmol) of the above 4-(5-fluoro-2-methoxyphenyl)-2-methoxymethoxy-4-methyl-2-trifluoromethylpentanoic acid ethyl ester in 50 mL of anhydrous THF, 1.09 g (28.88 mmol) of lithium aluminum was added in several portions. After 3 hours, the mixture was cautiously quenched (dropwise) with water (total: 8 mL), diluted with 100 mL of EtOAc, dried over magnesium sulfate, filtered, concentrated in vacuo, and dried at 75° C. under high vacuum to afford 3.1 g (100%) of 4-(5-fluoro-2-methoxyphenyl)-2-methoxymethoxy-4-methyl-2-trifluoromethylpentan-1-ol as a clear oil which was used without further purification.
