Procedure
Potassium hydroxide (2M (aq), 2.5 ml) is added to a solution of 4-[8-(3-trifluoromethoxyphenyl)-[1,7]naphthyridin-6-yl]-cyclohexanecarboxylic acid ethyl ester (250 mg, 0.56 mmol) in ethanol (10 ml) and stirred 45° C. for 1 h. The reaction mixture is diluted with water and acidified with c.HCl to pH3. The mixture is stirred for 2 h. then filtered, and the filter cake washed with water to yield the product as a white powder (218 mg). MS (AP+) 417.65
