Reaction Steps
2-(2-Cyanoethyl)pyridine is reduced with lithium aluminum hydride in ether, in the normal way, yielding 2-(3-aminopropyl) pyridine, b.p. 77°C/0.4 mm. (Dihydrochloride, m.p. 175°-177°C).
