Procedure
A mixture of 7-benzyl-4-hydroxy-8-oxo-7,8-dihydro-[2,7]naphthyridine-3-carboxylic acid methyl ester (100 mg, 0.32 mmol) and (3-amino-propyl)-carbamic acid tert-butyl ester (67 mg, 0.39 mmol) in EtOH (8 mL) was refluxed for 16 h. After cooling to r.t., mixture was diluted with EtOAc and washed with a pH 3 aqueous solution until the washes became acidic. The organic layer was dried over MgSO4 and concentrated. The crude product was purified by silica gel chromatography (0-5% MeOH/CH2Cl2) to give 80 mg of the title compound as a pale yellow solid. MS: (−) m/z 451.37 (M−1).
