To a solution of 5-(1-acetyl-1H-indazol-5-yl)-2-ethyl-[1,2,4]triazolo[1,5-α]pyrimidin-7(4H)-one (130 mg, crude) in methanol (5 ml) was added potassium carbonate (20 mg, 0.14 mmol) and water (1 ml), and the reaction mixture was stirred overnight at room temperature. The reaction mixture was concentrated under vacuum and diluted with water (10 ml). The product was collected by filtration and washed with ethanol (10 ml) to afford 2-ethyl-5-(1H-indazol-5-yl)-[1,2,4]triazolo[1,5-α]pyrimidin-7(4H)-one as a yellow solid (66 mg, 18% 2 steps).
