Procedure
2-(Bromomethyl)-1-methoxy-4-(methylsulfonyl)benzene VI-1 (1 g, 3.6 mmol, prepared by Procedure H) was added to a stirred solution of 2-chloro-5-methylpyrimidin-4-amine (1 g, 6.9 mmol) and K2CO3 (1 g, 7.2 mmol) in acetonitrile (10 mL) and heated overnight at 100° C. The mixture was filtered, concentrated in vacuo and purified by flash chromatography (ethyl acetate/petrol) to afford 2-chloro-N-(2-methoxy-5-(methylsulfonyl)benzyl)-5-methylpyrimidin-4-amine as a yellow solid. LC-MS (Method C) RT=0.93 min (ES+) 342.
