To a solution of N-(3-bromopropyl)-2,6-dichloropyrimidin-4-amine (2.0 g, 7.02 mmol) in 1,4-dioxane (15 mL) and water (15 mL) was added potassium carbonate (2.0 g, 14.47 mmol), stirred for 2 h at 60° C. and then concentrated. The residue was neutralized to pH˜6 by hydrochloride solution (6M), extracted by ethyl acetate to remove byproduct, and then neutralized by sodium hyroxide (2M) to pH˜7. The water was removed in vacuum to afford the title compound (3.03 g).
