To a solution of (R)-1-(5,6-diaminopyridin-2-yl)piperidine-3-carboxylic acid in N,N-dimethylformamide (49 mL, 12.25 mmol, 0.25M) was added a solution of 2-cyclopropylpyrimidine-4-carbaldehyde in N,N-dimethylformamide (49 mL, 12.25 mmol, 0.25M) followed by acetic acid (7.35 mL, 122.5 mmol). The reaction mixture was stirred at 60° C. for 16 h. The solvent was removed under reduced pressure and the residue was purified via HPLC to afford (R)-1-(2-(2-cyclopropylpyrimidin-4-yl)-3H-imidazo[4,5-b]pyridin-5-yl)piperidine-3-carboxylic acid.
