To a stirred solution of (S)-ethyl 2-tert-butoxy-2-(5-(4-chlorophenyl)-2,7-dimethylquinolin-6-yl)acetate (100 mg, 0.25 mmol) in dichloromethane (5 mL) was added a solution of mCPBA (114 mg, 77%, 0.51 mmol) in DCM (2 mL) at 0° C. The mixture was stirred at 0° C. for 1 hour before quenched with NaHCO3 solution. The mixture was extracted with DCM (30 mL), washed with NaHCO3 solution, water and brine, dried over Na2SO4, filtered and concentrated in vacuo. The obtained residue was purified by flash chromatography to provide the desired product (104 mg, 94%). LCMS-ESI+ (m/z): 442.2, 444.3 (M+H)+.
