A mixture of (S)-2-amino-3-methylbutan-1-ol (550 mg, 5.33 mmol) and (3S,5R,6R)-3-allyl-5-(3-chlorophenyl)-6-(4-chlorophenyl)-3-methyltetrahydro-2H-pyran-2-one (Example 261, Step H, 2nd compound, 500 mg, 1.332 mmol) was heated to 100° C. for 24h. After cooling to room temperature, the residue was dissolved in ethyl acetate and washed 3× with 1N HCl (5 mL) followed by sat. aq. NaCl solution (5 mL). The organic phase was dried over MgSO4, filtered, and the filtrate was concentrated to afford the title compound.
