To a stirred solution of methyl 2-((3R,5R,6S)-5-(3-chlorophenyl)-6-(4-chlorophenyl)-1-((S)-1-hydroxybutan-2-yl)-3-methyl-2-oxopiperidin-3-yl)acetate (Example 186, Step A, 360 mg, 0.752 mmol) in DCM (3.76 mL) was added Dess-Martin periodinane (383 mg, 0.903 mmol) and the reaction was stirred at rt for 20 minutes. After this time the reaction was treated with Na2S2O3 (30 mL, saturated aqueous solution) and DCM (40 mL) and stirred at rt for 10 minutes. The organic layer was separated and washed with Na2S2O3 (20 mL, saturated aqueous solution) and NaHCO3 (20 mL, saturated aqueous solution), dried over MgSO4, filtered and concentrated to give the title compound. MS (ESI) m/z=476.0 (M+1).
