Procedure
N-(1-Acetyl-3,3-dimethyl-2,3-dihydro-1H-indol-6-yl)-2-[(quinolin-4-ylmethyl)-amino]-benzamide (Example 9) (150 mg, 0.32 mmol) was dissolved in EtOH (15 mL) and concentrated aqueous HCl (5 mL) and the mixture was heated to 50° C. overnight, then 80° C. for 2 h. After drying in vacuo, the residue was partitioned between CH2Cl2 and aqueous NaHCO3. The organic layer was collected, washed with brine, and dried over Na2SO4. After concentrated in vacuo, the desired product was isolated as a white solid. MS: (ES+) 423, (M+H). Calc'd. for C27H26N4O-422.53.
