Reaction Steps

To a solution of (3R,4S)-4-((R)-1-phenylethylamino)-3-(trifluoromethyl)piperidine-1-carboxylic acid tert-butyl ester (2c) (1 equiv.) in ethanol in a Parr flask is added 10% Pd/C and the reaction is shaken under H2 (50 psi) for 6 hrs. The mixture is then filtered through celites and the filter pad is washed with EtOH. The filtrate is concentrated to give the title compound.
