5.00 g (12.9 mmol) of [5-(3-nitro-benzenesulfonylamino)-pentyl]-carbamic acid-tert-butyl ester is mixed with 15 ml of trifluoroacetic acid and stirred for 90 minutes at room temperature. The reaction mixture is concentrated by evaporation, and the residue is made basic with saturated NaHCO3 solution. Then, it is extracted with ethyl acetate (2×). The combined organic phases are washed with saturated NaCl solution, dried (Na2SO4), filtered and concentrated by evaporation. 3.4 g (11.8 mmol, corresponding to 91% of theory) of the product is obtained.
