(S)-[(6-Chloro-naphthalene-2-sulfonyl)-(1′-isopropyl-2-oxo-[1,4′]bipiperidinyl-3-yl)-amino]-acetic acid methyl ester (the product obtained in Example 8) was dissolved in 2.0M NH3 in methanol (5.0 mL), and the mixture was stirred at room temperature for 48 hr. The solvent was removed. HPLC purification (10% to 100% acetonitrile/water) provided the title compound as a white solid. LC-MS found: (M+1)+=521.31.
