Procedure

Prepared analogously to Example 1 from 5,11-dihydro-11-[[4-[3-(ethylamino)propyl]-1-piperidinyl]acetyl]-6H-pyrido[2,3-b][1,4]benzodiazepin-6-one and benzoic acid chloride. The free base is dissolved in ethyl acetate and the dihydrochloride is precipitated by the addition of ethereal hydrochloric acid. The desired compound is obtained in a yield of 62% by recrystallisation from ethanol.
