A suspension of 1.13 g (4.0 mmole) of 7-chloro-1-cyclopropyl-6-fluoro-1,4-dihydro-4-oxo-1,8-naphthyridine-3-carboxylic acid, 0.63 g (4.4 mmole) of 3-[(propylamino]methyl]pyrrolidine, 1.22 g (8.0 mmole) of 1,8-diazabicyclo[5.4.0]undec-7-ene and 30 ml of acetonitrile was stirred at room temperature for 2.5 hours. The precipitate was removed by filtration, washed with acetonitrile and dried in vacuo to give 1.15 g (74%) of the title compound, mp 230°-233° C.
