A solution of 124.7 g of 1-methyl-1-ethylpropylamine and 76.9 g of 2-chloroethoxyethanol in 300 ml of ethylene glycol monomethylether was refluxed overnight. The reaction mixture was treated with a stoichiometric excess of KOH and refluxed for one hour, filtered, and distilled. The product had a b.p. of 153° C. (2 mm). Analysis calculated for C10H23NO2 :% N, 7.4, found %N, 7.15.
