Procedure

Stilbene and 1,2-diphenylpropene may be prepared by reacting benzaldehyde with benzylmagnesium bromide and then carrying out dehydration. Further, 1,1-diphenylethylene may be obtained by reacting diphenyl ketone with a Grignard reagent such as methylmagnesium iodide, followed by dehydration.
