To a solution of 4-(3-methoxy-phenyl)-1,3-dihydro indol-2-one (59.8 mg, 0.25 mmol) and 3,5-dimethyl-4-(4-methyl-piperazine-1-carbonyl)-1H-pyrrole-2-carbaldehyde (64.8 mg, 0.25 mmol) in ethanol (2 mL) was added piperidine (3 drops). The reaction mixture was stirred at room temperature for three days. The reaction solution was evaporated, and purified on a silica gel column eluting with MeOH—CH2Cl2 5:95 to provide 3-[3,5-dimethyl 4-(4-methyl-piperazine-1-carbonyl)-1H-pyrrol-2-ylmethylene]-4-(3-methoxy-phenyl)-1,3-dihydro-indol-2-one as a yellow solid (62 mg, 53%)
