(S)-2-Ethoxy-3-[4-(3-quinolin-2-yl-allyloxy)-phenyl]-propionic acid ethyl ester (example 41) (150 mg, 0.37 mmol) was dissolved in ethanol (2 mL) and sodium hydroxide (1N, 2.0 mL, 2.0 mmol) added. The mixture was stirred at room temperature for 16 h. The reaction mixture was concentrated in vacuo, added 2-propanol (2 mL) and diethyl ether (2 mL). The title compound was isolated by filtration.
