2-Hexyloxy-3-(4-hydroxyphenyl)propanoic acid methyl ester was prepared from 3-(4-benzyloxyphenyl)-2-hexyloxypropanoic acid methyl ester in ethyl acetate using the same method as described in Example 14b.
