A mixture of 5-amino-1-[2,6-dichloro-4-(trifluoromethyl)phenyl]-4-methylsulfinyl-1H-pyrazole-3-carboxaldehyde (2.74 g), hydroxylamine hydrochloride (0.99 g) and pyridine (1.68 g) was stirred in methanol at 46° C. for 2.8 hours, evaporated, washed (water) and crystallized from ethanol to give 5-amino-1-[2,6-dichloro-4-(trifluoromethyl)phenyl]-4-methylsulfinyl-1H-pyrazole-3-carboxaldehyde oxime (1.74 g) as a white solid m.p.219-221° C.
