4-(4-Methoxy-benzenesulfonyl)-1-(3-methyl-but-2-enyl)-piperidine-4-carboxylic acid was prepared starting from 4-(4-methoxy-benzenesulfonyl)-1-(3-methyl-but-2-enyl)-piperidine-4- carboxylic acid ethyl ester (6.2 g, 16 mmol) dissolved in ethanol (15 mL), 10N sodium hydroxide (10 mL) and tetrahydrofiran (75 mL). The resulting reaction mixture was worked up as outlined in example 83. Yield 1.2 g (21%). brown solid mp 196-197° C., MS: 367.9 (M+H)+.
