A mixture of 5-methoxy-1,3-dihydro-indol-2-one (32.6 mg, 0.2 mmol), 4-oxo-4,5,6,7-tetrahydro-2H-pyrrolo[3,4-c]pyridine-1-carbaldehyde (32.8 mg, 0.2 mmol) and 0.1 mL of piperidine in ethanol (1 mL) was heated in a sealed tube at 80° C. for 4 hours. The precipitate was collected by vacuum filtration, washed with cold ethanol and dried to give the title compound.
