Procedure
To 50 ml of N,N-diethylaniline, 0.64 g (1.8 mmol) of 5-(4-chloro-2-fluoro-5-propargyloxyphenyl)-1-methyl-2-trifluoromethyl-4(1H)-pyridone and 0.56 g (3.7 mmol) of cesium fluoride were added, and the mixture was stirred at from 180 to 200° C. for 2.5 hours. This reaction solution was poured into water and extracted with ethyl acetate. After washing with concentrated hydrochloric acid, water and an aqueous sodium hydrogencarbonate solution, the organic layer was dried over anhydrous magnesium sulfate. Ethyl acetate was distilled off under reduced pressure, and then, the obtained residue was purified by silica gel column chromatography to obtain 0.50 g (yield: 75%) of the desired product. Melting point: 208-211° C.
