Procedure
Ethyl 5-(3,4,5-trimethoxyphenyl)pyrazole-3-carboxylate (1.70 g) was dissolved in dichloromethane (50 mL), and to the solution diisopropylethylamine (933 mg) was added at 0° C., and chloromethyl methyl ether (581 mg) was then added thereto. The resultant mixture was stirred at room temperature for 30 minutes under an argon atmosphere. The reaction mixture was washed with water and saturated brine, dried over anhydrous sodium sulfate and then concentrated under reduced pressure to obtain the title compound.
