Versuchsvorschrift

67 ml (0.11 M) of a 1.6 N solution of butyllithium in hexane were treated at 0° with 11.1 g (0.11 M) of diisopropylamide, and the reaction mixture was kept at 0° under stirring during 30 min. To this reaction mixture there was then added 1 g of potassium ter-butoxide followed by 24.5 g (0.05 M) of 4-bromo-pent-2trans-en-1-yl triphenylphosphonium bromide and the mixture obtained was kept under stirring during 18 h at 23°, whereupon a solution of 5 g (0.05 M) of hexanal in 35 ml of anhydrous ether at 8°-15° was added thereto.
