Procedure

4-(4-Benzo[1,3]dioxol-5-yl-5-pyridin-2-yl-1H-imidazol-2-yl)benzoyl chloride hydrochloride (100 mg; 0.23 mmol) was suspended in tetrahydrofuran (5 ml) and treated with a solution of methylamine in water (40% w/v; ml) and the resulting mixture stirred at ambient temperature for 18 h. The title compound (55 mg; 60%) was obtained as a brown powder by filtration, washing with water and drying at 40° C. under reduced pressure. 1H NMR (250 MHz; CD3OD) δ: 2.84 (3H, s), 5.89 (2H, s), 6.76 (1H, d), 6.85-7.80 (5H, m), 7.82 (2H, d), 8.00 (2H, d), 8,49 (1H, br); m/z (ESMS): 399 [M+HM]⊕.
