Procedure
A mixture of 1-(4-hydroxy-3,5-diiodo-phenyl)-cyclopropanecarboxylic acid methyl ester (3.2 g, 7.2 mmol), 3-chloro-2-methyl-propene (1.0 g, 11 mmol), K2CO3 (1.2 g, 8.6 mmol), NaI (0.1 g, 0.7 mmol) in acetone (20 mL) was stirred at 20° C. overnight. The solid was filtered off and the filtrate was concentrated under vacuum to give 1-[3,5-diiodo-4-(2-methyl-allyloxy)-phenyl]-cyclopropane-carboxylic acid methyl ester (3.5 g, 97%). 1H NMR (300 MHz, CDCl3) δ 7.75 (s, 2 H), 5.26 (s, 1 H), 5.06 (s, 1 H), 4.38 (s, 2 H), 3.65 (s, 3 H), 1.98 (s, 3 H), 1.62-1.58 (m, 2 H), 1.18-1.15 (m, 2 H).
