The mixture is stirred for five minutes at room temperature before a solution of (4-aminonaphthalen-1-yloxy)-acetic acid methyl ester (0.696 g, 1.1 eq) in DMF (2 ml) is added. The mixture is then stirred at room temperature for an additional 15 h before being diluted with water and extracted with ethyl acetate. The organic layer is washed with water, dried over Na2SO4 and evaporated to dryness. The residue is purified by column chromatography on silica gel, eluted with ethyl acetate in hexane (10-30%) to give {4-[3-fluoro-5-(4-methylpiperidin-1-yl)-benzoylamino]-naphthalen-1-yloxy}-acetic acid methyl ester as a solid (1.0 g).
