Procedure

To a solution of N-(3-(4-bromophenyl)-2,2,6,7-tetramethyl-2,3-dihydro-1-benzofuran-5-yl)-3,3-dimethylbutanamide (500 mg, 1.13 mmol) obtained in Example 284 in THF (10 mL) was added dropwise at −78° C. under an argon atmosphere n-butyllithium (1.59 M hexane solution, 1.56 mL, 2.48 mmol), and the mixture was stirred for 30 minutes. DMF (90 mg, 1.24 mmol) was added to the reaction solution at the same temperature, and the mixture was stirred for 30 minutes, warmed to room temperature, and stirred for 1 hour. Water was added to the reaction solution and the product was extracted with ethyl acetate. The organic layer was washed with water and saturated brine, dried over anhydrous sodium sulfate, and concentrated under reduced pressure. The residue was purified by silica gel column chromatography (ethyl acetate:hexane=2:3) and recrystallized from ethyl acetate-hexane to obtain 204 mg (yield: 46%) of the title compound. Melting point: 169-170° C.
