After complete consumption of starting material as monitored by TLC, the reaction mixture was diluted with water (10 mL) and acidified using 1 N HCl at 0° C. The aqueous layer was extracted with EtOAc (2×20 mL); combined organic extracts were washed with water (10 mL), brine (20 mL), dried over anhydrous Na2SO4, filtered and concentrated in vacuo. The crude material was purified by column chromatography to afford compound 2-(3-(benzo[c][1,2,5]oxadiazol-5-yl)-5-chloro-4-(cyclopropylmethoxy)phenyl)-4-methylpentanoic acid (152 mg) as an off white solid. 1HNMR (500 MHz) (CDCl3): δ (ppm) 7.92 (s, 1H), 7.85 (m, 1H), 7.72 (m, 1H), 7.46 (s, 1H), 7.25 (s, 1H), 3.65 (t, 1H), 3.48 (d, 2H), 1.95 (m, 1H), 1.65 (m, 1H), 1.55 (m, 1H), 1.22 (m, 1H0, 0.93 (d, 6H), 0.39 (d, 2H), 0.0 (m, 2H).
