The reaction mixture was diluted with water, extracted with ethyl acetate and evaporated under reduced pressure to a residue, which was chromatographed and then recrystallized to afford 2-methanesulfonylamino-4-(1-(2-fluoro-4-biphenylyl)ethyl)thiazole (447 mg, 71% yield): mp 127.5°-129.0° C.
