実験手順

A solution of 6-[1-(ethoxycarbonyl)ethoxy]-2-ethyl-4-[(2'-(2-triphenylmethyl-2H-tetrazol-5-yl)biphenyl-4-yl)methoxy]-1,5-naphthyridine (1.0 g) in THF (8 ml) was added to a stirred suspension of lithium aluminium hydride (100 mg) in THF (5 ml) at 0° C. The mixture was allowed to warm to ambient temperature and then stirred for 20 hours. Water (0.1 ml), 15% w/v sodium hydroxide solution (0.1 ml) and water (0.3 ml) were added and the mixture was stirred for 30 minutes. The insoluble solid was removed by filtration and the filtrate was concentrated by evaporation. The residue was triturated with ether to give 2-ethyl-6-(1-hydroxy-2-propoxy)-4-[(2'-(2-triphenylmethyl-2H-tetrazol-5-yl)biphenyl-4-yl)methoxy]-1,5-naphthyridine (A) (0.89 g), m.p. 146°-150° C.; NMR (d6 -DMSO); 1.25-1.35(m, 6H), 2.8(q, 2H), 3.35-3.45(m, 1H), 3.6(s, 2H), 5.4(s, 2H), 6.8-6.9(m, 6H), 7.05-7.15(m, 3H), 7.2-7.4(m, 10H), 7.45-7.6(m, 5H), 7.8(dd, 1H), 8.1(d, 1H).
