2-[(2-Cyclopropylethyl)oxy]-8-methoxy-9-(tetrahydro-2H-pyran-2-yl)-9H-purin-6-amine (845 mg) was dissolved in MeOH (10 mL) and TFA (1 mL) was added. The reaction was stirred over a weekend and was evaporated to dryness under reduced pressure to give a brown solid. EtOAc was added and the solid was filtered off and washed with more EtOAc (15 mL EtOAc used in total). The solid was then washed with Et2O (5 mL) and air-dried under suction to give the title compound as an off-white solid (937 mg).
