Procedure

A solution of 5-fluoro-3-(2-vinyl-7H-furo[3,4-b]pyridin-5-ylidene)-1,3-dihydro-indol-2-one (60 mg, 0.20 mmol) and diethylamine (250 mg, 3.42 mmol) are reacted in a sealed tube at 100° C. for 2 h. The reaction vessel is cooled and additional diethylamine (250 mg, 3.42 mmol) in dioxane (10 mL) is added. The reaction vessel is sealed and heated at 100° C. overnight. The reaction mixture is cooled and treated with triethylamine (15 drops). The reaction mixture is loaded onto silica gel and purified by chromatography (silica gel, MeOH-Chloroform). The product containing fractions are concentrated to provide the title compound (13 mg, 18%) as a yellow solid.
