Procedure

75 mg (0.16 mmol) of 7-(3-aminophenyl)-N-[(3R)-1-azabicyclo[2.2.2]oct-3-yl]-1-benzofuran-2-carboxamide (Example 114), 18 μl (0.24 mmol) of acetyl chloride and 68 μl (0.49 mmol) of triethylamine are stirred in 2 ml of THF at RT overnight. The solvent is removed under reduced pressure. Purification takes place by preparative HPLC. The product is dissolved in methanol, and an excess of 1N hydrochloric acid is added. Removal of the solvent under reduced pressure and drying under high vacuum results in 51 mg (72% of theory) of the title compound.
