A solution of 128.0 g of 4-(4-ethoxy-2,3-difluoro-phenyl)-1-pentylcyclohexanol in 11 of toluene was refluxed in a water separator with addition of 5.0 g of toluene-4-sulphonic acid monohydrate. When all the water had been removed, the mixture was subjected to conventional work-up, giving 1-ethoxy-2,3-difluoro-4-(4-pentylcyclohex-3-enyl)benzene.
