Procedure

Compound 217 (64 mg) in 4:1:1 THF:MeOH:H2O (3 mL) was mixed with LiOH (15 mg), and stirred at r.t. overnight. The mixture was concentrated and purified by prep Gilson HPLC to give the decarboxylation product 218 (25 mg as a pale solid). 1H NMR (500 MHz, DMSO-d6) δ 10.08 (s, 1H), 8.49 (s, 1H), 8.42 (d, 1H, J=2.5 Hz), 7.89 (m, 1H), 7.11 (d, 1H, J=9.1), 4.86 (s, 2H), 4.10 (m, 6H), 3.05 (m, 1H), 2.75 (t, 1H, J=11.7 Hz), 1.77 (m, 2H), 1.67 (m, 1H), 1.53 (m, 1H), 1.15 (m, 1H), 0.94 (d, 3H, J=6.6 Hz). MS (M+1): 477.3
