Procedure
Into a 30 mL two-neck flask, a methanol solution (0.04 g/L, 70 μL) of the [HPS-N(C2H4OC2H4OCH3)3Br]Pt particle complex prepared in Example 17 and 180 mg of trans-stilbene were charged and thereto, 2 mL of methanol was added. The inside of the system was purged with hydrogen and the reaction was effected at room temperature for 11 hours. A dibenzyl derived from reduction of trans-stilbene was obtained in a yield measured by G.C. of 93%.
