Diisopropyl azodicarboxylate (1.9 M in toluene, 0.69 mL) was added dropwise to a solution of tert-butyl (6R,7S)-7-(4-chloro-3-fluorophenyl)-6-hydroxy-1,4-oxazepane-4-carboxylate (300 mg), triphenylphosphine (340 mg) and 2-oxo-1,2-dihydropyridine-3-carbonitrile (160 mg) in tetrahydrofuran (10 mL), and the mixture was stirred at room temperature for 4 hr. Water was added to the reaction mixture, and the mixture was extracted with ethyl acetate. The extract was washed with brine, and dried over anhydrous magnesium sulfate. The solvent was evaporated under reduced pressure. The residue was purified by silica gel column chromatography to give the title compound (250 mg).
