Procedure
Methanesulfonyl chloride (1.35 mL) was added to a solution of 2-(2,2-difluorocyclopropyl)ethanol (1.42 g) and triethylamine (3.24 mL) in THF (20 mL) dropwise at 0° C. The mixture was stirred at room temperature overnight. Water was added, and the mixture was extracted with ethyl acetate. The organic layer was washed with brine, dried over anhydrous magnesium sulfate and concentrated under reduced pressure. The residue was purified by silica gel column chromatography (hexane/ethyl acetate) to give the title compound (1.31 g) as a pale yellow oil.
